Common questions

Can you unlock a PDF if I do not know the password?

No. To unlock and decrypt a PDF, you must supply the correct password. Since this tool operates entirely client-side for privacy and does not run cracking software, it cannot brute-force or bypass an unknown password.

Is my password or file uploaded to any servers?

No. Everything runs locally in your web browser. Neither your PDF file nor the password you type are ever sent over the internet or seen by anyone else.

Will the unlocked PDF lose any quality?

No. The tool reads the structural elements of the PDF (text, fonts, vector shapes, layout) and resaves them without encryption. No rendering or flattening takes place, so the quality remains 100% identical.
