How it works
- Upload your image. Any standard photo format (JPG, PNG, WebP) works.
- Adjust the crop box. Select your aspect ratio preset. Drag the box to select the region, and drag the corner handle to resize.
- Set a target KB size limit. Standard profile pictures usually don't need this, but you can limit the file size if the platform has a strict upload limit (e.g. 200KB).
- Click "Crop & Compress" to crop the image and download a clean cropped JPG.

What aspect ratios are supported?
This tool supports standard aspect ratios like 1:1 (Square for profile pictures), 4:5 (Instagram Portrait), 16:9 (Landscape for video & banners), 9:16 (vertical Stories & Reels), 3:1 (Twitter/X banners), as well as a "Free Crop" option that lets you resize the crop box to any custom rectangular dimensions.
Does this upload my photos anywhere?
No. Like all FileSwift tools, the cropping, resizing, and compression run entirely inside your browser tab using JavaScript. Your photos never leave your device.
What format is the output file?
The cropped output is exported as a standard JPG, which has the best compression and compatibility across all platforms and web forms.
