Compress your video

Upload a video file and choose your quality level. Lower quality means a smaller file. The tool re-encodes your video at the selected settings entirely inside your browser.

How it works

  1. Upload your video. MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, or MKV.
  2. Choose your quality and resolution. “Balanced” is a good default — it typically cuts file size by 40–70% with acceptable quality.
  3. Download. The compressed file is generated on your device and never touches a server.

Common questions

How much smaller will my video get?

It depends on the source material, but typical reductions are 40–70% at the Balanced setting. Videos that were already heavily compressed (e.g. WhatsApp forwards) will see smaller gains.

Why is compression slow on my phone?

Mobile browsers use a single-threaded fallback for the video engine, which is safer but slower than the multi-threaded desktop path. Keep the tab open and your screen on — the tool will warn you if your browser tries to suspend it.

Is there a file size limit?

Desktop browsers handle files up to about 2 GB. Mobile browsers are capped at roughly 400 MB due to memory constraints. The tool checks your file size before starting and tells you if it’s too large.

Will this add a watermark?

No. There are no watermarks, ever. This tool is 100% free with no premium tier or upsell.
